Roll & Restore: MFR for Surfers at Centro La Paz

  • Centro La Paz Carr. 115 Km. 14.1 Rincon, Puerto Rico, 00677 (map)

Explore the tools and techniques of self-myofascial release (aka self-massage) focusing on commonly-tense and overworked areas in surfers and athletes.

This workshop will give you the skills to safely and intentionally incorporate self-myofascial release into your pre- and post-sport routines. We’ll work on releasing tension in the hips, back, chest, and shoulders, and we’ll also look into how and why regular MFR aids in quicker recovery, injury prevention, pain management, increased range of motion, and a deeper connection to the self… All positive benefits for surfers and athletes to grow in their sport! And while this workshop is focused on surfers, swimmers, and athletes, this practice is truly beneficial for everyone and all levels are welcome to join.

This is Part 1 of a 5-part Myofascial Release (MFR) Workshop Series.

  • If you’d like to pre-register for all 5 workshops, you will receive a discount of one workshop free! Or you can also sign up for workshops individually, one does not necessarily build on the other.

  • Props and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. You will want a yoga mat (you can rent one from La Paz) and to wear comfortable clothing - we will be working on the floor, the wall, and from standing.

  • These workshops are beneficial for everyone: if you sit a lot, if you stand a lot, if you’re a surfer or athlete, or totally new to movement and mindfulness. These workshops can also be beneficial for yoga students and teachers that want to incorporate MFR into their practice or teaching.
