A new annual surf event + community festival coming to Rincon that I couldn't be more excited about!
“La Primavera” will be a professionally run, unprecedented, competitive surfing event on the island of Puerto Rico, focusing on the timeless tradition of classic, single fin longboarding, awarding finalists a combined total prize purse of $5,000.00 USD ($2,500.00 to men and women equally, with a first prize of $1,500.00). Presented by the Federation of Surfing in Puerto Rico.
In addition to the surf series, we will be inviting attendees to learn about conscious preservation of our precious natural resources, while bringing communities together with good food, healthy beverages and family-friendly activities, including: Free Sunrise Yoga (with yours truly), Massage Therapy, Fruit Smoothies, Games + Macramé with O'neill, an Indigo Tie-Dye Station for event tees, Pony Rides, Hula Hoop Demos, Live Music, Refreshing Drinks, Good Food, Face Painting and much more!
The forecast is looking great and we just got word that the event is going to be held at MARIA'S BEACH!!! Kick-start the day with me, at 7am, on the sand in front of the point at Maria's for a Karma Community Yoga Class benefiting the Rincon Surfrider Chapter.
Wake up with the sun and tune into the natural rhythm of life while welcoming the Spring Equinox, the symbolic day of equal day and night and a reminder of the essential need for balance. All levels are welcome to join in this surf-inspired Vinyasa Flow focused on inviting that same balance into the body and mind through meditative movement, breathwork, and positive intentions. Please bring a TOWEL and some WATER. This is a free class, any collected donations will directly benefit Surfrider Rincon.
