Explore the tools and techniques of self-myofascial release (aka self-massage) focusing on the chest, shoulders, arms, hands, and neck.
This workshop is great for everyone: Whether you sit at a desk or over a computer, or your job or sport or hobby requires you to use your hands or upper body often (surfers, swimmers, golfers, construction work, sewing, typing, painting, etc… Everyone is welcome!). We’ll focus on releasing tension in these specific areas along with encouraging tissue health and hydration. Experience for yourself and learn why MFR helps to ease pain, enhance recovery, and, overtime, can even help increase range of motion and create positive postural changes. At the end of the workshop you will have the knowledge to safely and effectively incorporate MFR into your personal practice, athletic recovery, or self-care routine.
Props and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. You will want a yoga mat (you can rent one from La Paz) and to wear comfortable clothing - we will be working on the floor, the wall, and from standing. These workshops are beneficial for everyone: if you sit a lot, if you stand a lot, if you’re a surfer or athlete, or totally new to movement and mindfulness. These workshops can also be beneficial for yoga students and teachers that want to incorporate MFR into their practice or teaching.
